In addition to providing a direct mass flow reading, the Coriolis Flowmeter offers a number of other advantages. Perhaps the biggest advantage is its’ multi-parameter measurement capability – the Coriolis Meter provides direct mass and volumetric flow rate, process temperature and density readings. It can also provide inferred readings for density dependent parameters such as % water-in-oil, degrees Brix and degrees Baume. Another advantage of the Coriolis Flow is that there is no requirement for pipe straight runs upstream and downstream of the meter.
The specific advantages that this technology provides include high accuracy, low cost, little-to-no pressure loss, readings which are unaffected by changes in density and viscosity, and no susceptibility to bearing wear or other mechanical wear-and-tear issues. Since the only wetted components are the electrodes and the liner, these components may be fabricated from a variety of different materials in order to make the Mag Meter compatible with virtually any electrically conductive fluid, including aggressive acids. The only real limitation of the Electromagnetic Flowmeter is that the measured fluid media must be electrically conductive (> 5μS/cm). Non-conductive fluids, such as oil and other petroleum-based fluids, cannot be measured by the mag meter.
